Certainly Christians are … so-called Christians at the time of the Crusades performed hideous acts, but then too the founders, the Founding Fathers of the United States, who said that all men were created equal, were quite happy to own slaves. They’ve preached freedom but there was no freedom for the millions of Africans who were torn from their home and forced to live in hideous conditions on the plantations. The tragedy of human beings is we have these wonderful ideals but we also fail constantly to live up to them. We are forked and divided creatures.
